Murals

Mural Commissions

This mural is the first of hopefully many more mural painting projects.  The building is a newly constructed office building in Phoenix, Arizona.  The building was designed and constructed by Scott Buckles in 2023.  The South side of the building faces the main thoroughfare, Washington Street.  That end of the building was constructed of concrete block with a recessed area for the mural painting.

The area of the image is 12 feet wide by 18 feet high.  The paint used was exterior grade semi-gloss acrylic with a clear sealer. The concept for the image was to provide a cool and calm feeling in a desert city, thus the name “Autumn Calm.”

Cost for a Mural is based on size and complexity of the image desired.  The fee is a negotiated flat rate, plus the cost of scaffolding, materials, and travel/lodging expenses.  Call Scott for a quote at 951-551-6972 or email at sbuckles@bucklesassociates.com.

Scott’s Style

Scott first developed his love for drawing and painting as a child.  His father was an Architect in Illinois and encouraged Scott’s development as an artist.  In the 1970’s while attending Architectural school in Illinois Scott began to work primarily with watercolor realistic landscapes.  His work was awarded recognition in several local art shows and was also chosen to have one of his landscapes featured in a calendar of local artists.  Over the years, his style changed from realistic landscapes to more abstract work as exemplified by the mural.
